Sence of home cooking has been changing with the times. Various topics, which make us conscious of health and dietary habits, such as delicatessen, half-ready-made foods, eating out, and utilization of home delivery service and food imports are involved in those of simplification of cooking. We requested 64 students to fill in a questionnaire in three parts. The recovery was 96.4%. The results are as follows : The main reason for purchasing delicatessen or half-ready-made foods was that "they make use of them as makeshift substitutes when they have little time to cook because of their going out or receiving visitors, " while there was the reason that "thinking a menu and cooking are troublesome." They feel dissatisfied with delicatessen in that "it becomes boring" and" it is strongly seasoned, " while they are satisfied with it in that "it's fresh "and" it's cheap." They are also concious of the plase where farm pruduse is harvested, in other words, whether it is food imports into Japan from abroad or not, when they purchase it. They eat out at a restaurant once a month or so and have hot meals delivered for supper, while they eat fruit and vegetables and endeavor to take in high-quality animal and vegetable protein. It seems that they are very careful about dietary habits in order to preserve their health and keep in shape. |
