The paper is a survey report on 105 female students of junior college in Kagoshima by questionnaire regarding their dietary habits and health in Feb., 1995. The results may be summarized as follows : 1 As to their eating habits, the rate of the answer of "skip meals once or more a day" was 11%. From residential point of view, the rate of the skipping meals was greater in the students living on their own than them living with family (p<0.01). 2 About a dietary consideration the answer of "not to think of food combination" was merely 7%. As for the amount of a meal, "have a meal enough all the time" was 27%. 3 Energy intake maintained an average of 1540±285 kilo calories per day. They have taken fairly low caloric values, and the intakes of protein and lipid were very small quantities. Energy ratio of P/E was 14.1%, and that of F/E was 30.6% in a high value. 4 They could not satisfy the recommended dietary allowances on the intakes of calcium, iron and vitamins. 5 The intake of every group of foodstuff was a very small quantity except the group of milks. From dwelling point of view, we recognized the students living with family have taken the most rice, and the students living on their own have taken extremely a small amount of fishes and shellfishes. 6 There were the positive correlations between pulses and vegetables, and further, between meats and vegetables (p<0.01). On the other hand, a correlation was not observed between fishes and vegetables. 7 In regard to the fatigue, the rate of the students who gave the claims over the half of the items was 45%. The top of the answer was "sleepy" and the rate was more than 80%. 8 "Dwelling difference" and "dietary consideration" were considered the important factors influencing the health of students. |
