School feeding is now in a period of transition and many schools have been trying to adopt rice feeding twice a week. I wanted to know what kind of problems, if any, such rice feeding has and examined some of them. The results are as follows : 1) As to how much food is left unfinished both in bread feeding and in rice feeding once a week, the former is richer in nutrition and the latter is higher in the food taking rate. 2) The students are fond of fries and boiled rice dishes but often leave AEMONO salads unfinished. 3) Rice feeding twice a week is preferable to the one once a week in terms of taking in nutrition. 4) As for nutrition, too much of animal protein and milk products is given and there seems to be the necessity of making out menues fuller of fruit, vegetables and bean products. |
