The results were as follows : Almost all children ate their breakfast every morning. Most of children ate rice as staple food. Thirty percent of children ate their breakfast with whole family, and 25-30% ate alone or with sisters or brothers. Eighty percent of children helped the household chores at meal, such as putting back in order, preparing the table, and spreading a table. Eighty six percent used the products in Kagoshima Prefecture and local area. Insufficient food groups were vegetables, milk or dairy products, seaweed, and fruits. The average numbers of food used were 26.5 in Friday and 22.4 in Saturday. These results were an almost similar to or a little higher than the results of the survey in Kagoshima Prefecture. On the other hand, they ate local dishes 2-5 times more than the results of the survey in Kagoshima Prefecture, and they acknowledged the Kagoshima Brand Products 3 times more than the results of the survey in Kagoshima Prefecture. We analyzed how taking the staple food, the main dish, and the side dish together plays the role because the meal balance guide had been presented. The ratios to take main three dishes together were 43% in breakfast on Friday, and 30% on Saturday. The ratio to take milk and dairy products was 45%, and the ratio to take the fruit was very few in breakfast. Taking main three dishes together made better to keep good meal balance, and high number of food.
