In some food industries the very existence of the plant may be dependent on the disposal of waste material. The disposal may be dictated by economic or legal constraints. Any waste product must compete economically with products that they replace or create their own markets. The introduction of a product derived from waste materials would be greatly facilitated if the new product could be shown to be better and safer than existing products. Ocean quahogs have long been an underutilized clam species on the east coase of the USA. A market has not existed in the past becaous of the abundance and ease of harvest of surf clams. Since 1976 the surf clam resource has marketly declined and a shift to the use of ocean quahogs as a substitute has resulted. The ocean quahog is a different type of animal and requires different processing conditions. As a result more visceral waste is generated. Although unusable for clam meat applications, preliminary studies indicated that the waste material could be used as a base for fish feed. This utilization would be preferable to its disposal in a sanitary land fill. It has been estimated that as many as 90 tons of ocean quahogs may be landed per year. Of this amount, 50% may be eviscerated for use in a milk-based clam chowder.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_description_15":{"attribute_name":"表示順","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"5","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_description_16":{"attribute_name":"アクセション番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"KJ00000066295","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_source_id_1":{"attribute_name":"雑誌書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00039943","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_3_text_6":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(日)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"鹿児島県立短期大学"},{"subitem_text_value":"ロードアイランド大学"}]},"item_3_text_7":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Kagoshiam Prefectural College"},{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Department of Food Science nad Nutrition, University of Rhode Island"}]},"item_3_title_3":{"attribute_name":"論文名よみ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"〓"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"釜田, 忠"},{"creatorName":"カマタ, タダシ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KAMATA, Tadashi","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"SIMPSON, Kenneth L.","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-07-25"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KJ00000066295.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"724.1 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KJ00000066295.pdf","url":"https://k-kentan.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/1373/files/KJ00000066295.pdf"},"version_id":"6d2f9e5c-35c4-40b5-bc7c-3959cbde4f83"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Shellfish ","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":" Waste products ","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":" Fish Feed ","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":" Salmonid ","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":" Evaluation","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"貝類廃棄物の飼料としての利用評価","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"貝類廃棄物の飼料としての利用評価"},{"subitem_title":"Evaluation of Shell Fish Waste As A Feed For Fish","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"3","path":["147"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-07-25"},"publish_date":"2016-07-25","publish_status":"0","recid":"1373","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["貝類廃棄物の飼料としての利用評価"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-21T08:06:34.290973+00:00"}
