The fish examined contained 2.0% of lipid, and A. V., S. V. and I. V. of the lipid were 16.7,197.8 and 185.7 respectively. In the total lipid, phospholipid was 45.4%. Simplelipid and glycolipid were 48.l% and 6.5% each. The major fatty acids of the lipid were C_<22 : 6> (25.8%), C_<16 : 0> (22.5%), C_<20 : 5> (11.2%) and C_<18 : 1> (7.3%). The lipid contained a high percentage of C_<22 : 6> in comparison with the other fish lipids. In the lipid there was a ratio of four polyenes to one monoene. The ratio was not usual in the other fish lipids. The main fatty acid C_<22 : 6> had a tendency to exists as a component of phospholipid. The C_<26 : 0> was detected in glycolipid, and C_<20 : 5> was in simple and phospholipid. It was recognized that C_<23 : 0>, rare acid in the other fishes, presented in phospholipid and glycolipid. The phospholipid fraction was rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids in comparison with other fractions.
